Hi Russel,
First of all thank you for the wonderful travel journal, it inspires me to do one with the 4 week old 2008 Camry hybrid later this year. Wanted to clarify one thing though...mine has the nav system and it displays the MFD like the prius. The non-nav's don't have the mfd, like the one your drove on your trip. Btw, I had a '07 Prius touring, loved the car, drove it for about 6 months, and then traded that in for the hybrid camry. After having driven camry's (3 of them) for about 11 years, I was missing the comfort of the camry quite a bit. Highway rides in the prius was rough, cross winds caused the car to sway quite a bit at speeds over 70. But the mpg on the prius was awesome always got over 47mpg. With the camry, so far the best has been 39 and worst 37, will see what happens when the engine break-in period is over. Anyway, happy motoring to all the hybrid drivers....
cheers

Russel,
As an owner of a Classic 2001 Prius and 2007 Camry Hybrid(May 2006)I appreciated your comparison comments. I use the Camry for long trips and the Prius for local trips after getting the Camry. The Prius on I-5 in California seemed to be considered wimpish by the aggressive drivers of BMW's and Mercedes. I don't experience that problem with Camry. I have got as high as 42MPG and never less than 38 MPG on the highway going between 70 and 80 MPH (Average 65 MPH point to point. I have had 8 Toyotas (3rd Camry) and this is the best one yet.

Hi Russel,
I love your 'review'.
I have been thinking of buying one for a long time and this definitely brought me closer. Could you tell me one thing though? Did you use the stereo (radio/cd player/AUX)? How is it and where is the AUX input located?

Thanks!

I really enjoyed the article. I got a brochure about 6 months ago but I was still not convinced it would be a suitable car for me. Your story has moved me closer to buying one..... Barry.
