Accident

Way back when this site started these were much less frequent simply because, there just weren't that many Priuses on the road. Nowadays, the Prius is just another car and these things, sadly, happen all too often. Back then each accident was an event because they were rare and the Prius was (relatively) new. From time to time, I'll post something like this just show that the Prius is, in addition to everything else, a safe vehicle to drive.

As always, our best wishes for a speedy recovery to all involved.

The woman driving the Prius and her female passenger as well as the Honda driver were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital. The passenger in the Prius suffered serious internal injuries that are believed to be non-life threatening. The injuries to the two drivers are non-life threatening, police said.
The Smithtown Fire Department responded to the scene, but the drivers of both vehicles and passengers were able to self-extricate themselves, according to Smithtown Fire Department Public Information Officer Jeff Bressler.
