The Facade

If you can't make efficient or clean vehicles, you can at least buy the credits from companies who do and make yourself look better. Hey #RamTough, yeah, I'm talking to you.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, which lags the auto industry in fuel efficiency, purchased U.S. greenhouse gas emissions credits from rival automakers Toyota Motor Corp, Tesla Motors Inc and Honda Motor Co, a government report released on Wednesday show.

There really isn't much to say here other than, the article goes on to say...

Even without acquiring credits, Fiat Chrysler still would have been in compliance in the 2014 model year, the report said.

Which makes the purchase that much more inexplicable. Obviously, they needed these credits for something.

Oh well, when rolling coal is one of your biggest marketing features, this shouldn't surprise anyone.
